What is the difference between hiding and deleting?

RotaMaster will only allow information that isn't used elsewhere in the system to be deleted, if the information has been used historically but is no longer required then it must be hidden.

For example, if a Shift Pattern has been rolled out to the live rota at any point you will not be able to delete it however, the pattern can be hidden.

Deleting A Shift Pattern

To delete a shift pattern go to Rota>Shift Pattern Manager and select the Shift Pattern you want to delete and click Delete Pattern

💡Shift Patterns are selected by clicking the grey arrow next to the Rota Group the pattern is within to reveal the drop down menu on the left

You will be asked if you're sure you want to delete the Pattern, click Yes. If the Pattern has not been rolled out it will get deleted, if it has been rolled out to the live rota you will be shown this warning and you will have to hide the Pattern instead

Hiding a Shift Pattern

To hide a Shift Pattern select the relevant Pattern and click hide pattern

The Shift Pattern will automatically get hidden. To view any hidden Patterns click Hidden Patterns on the bottom of the screen

Hidden Patterns can then be viewed under their perspective Rota Groups and unhidden by selecting them and clicking unhide
