Posts - What are they?

Please note that this article only applies to People+ customers. Please speak to your Account Manager about an upgrade.

Posts are used in RotaMaster People+ to outline the different job posts that each staff member has. They can be assigned to all staff, regardless of whether the staff member will be rostered on RotaMaster or not.

Posts are made up of three core parts;

Post - general post details including name, annual leave configurations etc.

Contract - outlines contracted hours, role and daily working hours

- Finance Record - finance details for anyone with this post (can be salary or hourly rates)

Examples of Post Names are;

- Salaried GP

- Sessional GP

- Part Time Admin Assistant

- Full Time Receptionist

Staff members can have multiple posts, all of which can have different;

- Leave Allowances

- Contracted Hours

- Finance/Pay Rates

- Benefits (Health Insurance etc)

- Mandatory Training Requirements

This allows one staff member, for example, to have;

- A Salaried GP Post with 37.5 contracted weekly hours, a 25 day leave allowance and a set of pay rates for any shifts worked as Salaried GP.

AND

- a Sessional GP Post with 0 contracted hours, no leave allowance and a different set of pay rates for any shifts worked as Sessional GP.

The system will then recognise which post the staff member is working each shift against and calculate shift values accordingly. For staff members on RotaMaster for HR Only purposes, salaries can be recorded, too.

Posts are initially configured in Post Manager, and then assigned to individual staff members. Click here to find out how this is done.

For staff rostered on RotaMaster, all Posts must have an active Contract AND Finance Record.

Without those, they will not be able to be entered into any shifts.
